Use this page to contact AFIJ about your personal information. To avoid collecting additional sensitive information through an unverified web form, this first version opens a pre-addressed email instead of storing your request on the website.
Before sending: Please do not email passport copies, identity documents, payment-card details, health information or other highly sensitive material unless we specifically ask for it through an appropriate method. We may ask for reasonable identity verification before disclosing or changing personal information.
Correction
Ask us to review inaccurate or incomplete information you previously provided.
Deletion / use restriction
Ask whether information can be deleted, erased, or its use restricted where applicable.
Other privacy concern
Report a privacy concern, possible misdirected message, or suspected improper disclosure.
What happens next
- We record the request date and request type.
- We confirm what information or action the request concerns.
- Where necessary, we verify identity using a proportionate method.
- We review applicable legal requirements and exceptions.
- We record the decision and response so the handling can be audited later.
This page does not promise that every request will result in deletion or disclosure. Applicable Japanese law may require or permit certain records to be retained or may provide exceptions.
